Taylor Captures Eight Players’ Choice Awards

Acoustic Guitar magazine announced the winners of its 2008 Player’s Choice Awards: a biennial vote cast by players and enthusiasts of their favorite guitars, gear, instructional resources and other products. Winning a whopping eight Players’ Choice Awards, Taylor was recognized in the categories of Beginner’s Steel-Strings, Acoustic-Electric Guitars and 12-String Guitars with Gold awards and won Silver awards in the categories of Dreadnoughts, Mid-Size Flattops, Small Bodies, and Nylon Strings. A Bronze award was also given to the company in the category of Travel Guitars (BabyTaylor, BigBaby).

Acoustic Guitar started the Players’ Choice Awards in 1998 as a way for you, the players, to tell each other (and the people making the gear you use every day) what guitars, accessories, and amplification equipment pass the test day after day. Guitarists all have a favorite capo, string set, pickup, or guitar that we just couldn’t live without, and we love to tell other guitarists how much the best gear will add to their music-making experience. The Players’ Choice Awards are your chance to do just that.

Voting in the Players’ Choice Awards happens every-other-year, and over the past ten years, the readers of Acoustic Guitar have awarded over 400 Players’ Choice Awards in categories ranging from Dreadnought Guitars to Stand-Alone Recorders (see a list of all categories and past winners here.) After focusing exclusively on gear, the Players’ Choice Awards categories were expanded in recent years to get your input on the best instructional materials and workshops. And in 2008, we’ve expanded even further to include categories for Best Acoustic Guitarist in a variety of styles and genres, and Best Retail Shop. Here’s your chance to sound off about all aspects of your guitar playing experience!
