Guitars by Budget

From the compact, wallet-friendly GS Mini to the expansive sounds and sophisticated aesthetics of the Builder’s Edition family, the Taylor line offers a wide array of acoustic voices across a range of price points.

Taylor Guitars Under $1,000

Guitar players and gift-givers will find a wealth of options for acoustic guitars under $1,000. The Academy Series offers an inviting playing experience that accommodates newer players as well as seasoned pros, with a carved armrest and solid top providing optimal comfort and sonic projection. The GS Mini remains one of Taylor’s most popular guitars of all time, thanks to its scaled-down frame and bold sound. With a solid top and layered back and sides for stability and durability during travel and transport, the GS Mini is available with several tonewood options, including rosewood, mahogany and Hawaiian koa. At the upper end of this category is the Taylor 200 Series, which combines the tonal warmth and brilliance of the rosewood/spruce pairing with pro-level construction that makes these guitars suitable for everything from practicing at home to performing on stage.

Taylor Guitars $1,000 – $2,999

In this price range, you’ll find inspiring guitars upgraded with superior aesthetics and top-tier design features. It’s home to Taylor’s two latest innovations: the American Dream and the Taylor GT, both released earlier in 2020 to critical acclaim. The American Dream Series is a new line of acoustic guitars made with all-solid tonewoods and V-Class bracing, offering a rich, seasoned tone reminiscent of vintage acoustic recordings—perfect for the strummer or singer-songwriter in need of a new musical companion. The American Dream Series launched with three Grand Pacific models earlier this year.

Meanwhile, the Taylor GT (Grand Theater) is sure to impress players of all styles with its comfortable frame, shorter scale and powerful voice. Designed as a smaller alternative to a full-size guitar with a robust acoustic tone regardless of its compact size, the GT’s low string tension makes it easy to hold and play regardless of your skill level, while the all-solid tonewoods and new C-Class bracing serve up bold, sophisticated tone with a surprisingly responsive low end for such a small guitar.

Taylor Guitars $3,000 and Above

At this price point, you’re not just buying a guitar as a gift—you’re giving an heirloom-quality instrument crafted with the highest standards of material quality, attention to detail, and aesthetic artistry.

You’ll find several models from our Builder’s Edition family, a collection of director’s-cut-style guitars elevated to a sublime level of performance in both sound and feel. Model offerings include the Builder’s Edition 912ce, a Grand Concert with solid Indian rosewood back and sides, a solid spruce top, V-Class bracing, and a host of player-focused comfort features such as an armrest and beveled cutaway. This budget category is also home to our Koa Series, including the new K26ce, featuring the revitalized Grand Symphony body shape with a soundport cutaway and an immersive, wide-angle sound.

Even Taylor’s venerable flagship 814ce has received an update this year, and now features a radius-style rosewood armrest for enhanced comfort while playing.
