On Friday, September 17 we caught up with CMA-nominated country rockers on-the-rise Steel Magnolia, led by the duo of Meghan Linsey (vocals) and Joshua Scott Jones (810ce, 914ce, 610ce, T5). Along with lead guitarist Dominic McManus (six SolidBody Classics, T3/B, 710ce), the group has been out on the road since May as part of Brad Paisley’s H20 World Tour. We hung with the band before their show at Cricket Wireless Amphitheater in Chula Vista, California as they were nearing the end of their 75-city tour through North America, Canada and Europe and gearing up for the launch of their new album. The album is set for a January 11, 2011 release and includes their country radio hits “Keep on Lovin’ You,” from the Valentine’s Day movie soundtrack, and their newest single, “Just By Being You (Halo & Wings),” which debuted in the top 30 on the Billboard Top Country chart.
Steel Magnolia will also be appearing at the CMA Awards in November as nominees for “Vocal Duo of the Year.” The Awards will be held on Wednesday, November 10 and air on ABC.
