Guitar Stocking Stuffer Accessories

Any guitarist will admit that there are a few things they can never have enough of. These are the basic accessories every guitarist needs, and they’re sure to earn you a big thank-you this season.

  • Guitar picks. If there’s a gift for a guitar player that never goes out of style, it’s picks. Some players like standard celluloid picks, while others prefer picks of different shapes and materials. Taylor produces a range of guitar picks that actually enhance your guitar’s sound, offering players a chance to explore new tonal territory. Not sure what the guitarist on your list likes? Grab a variety pack, like this one that comes in a collectible tin with a Hawaiian koa top.
  • Extra strings. Another must-have, guitar strings are a gift that keeps on giving throughout the year. There’s nothing more annoying than breaking a string and finding you’re all out of extras and have to make a run to the shop before you can keep playing. If you or the guitarist on your list likes guitar strings that last a long time, try D’Addario XS Coated guitar strings, which come standard on most Taylor guitars.
  • Guitar slide. Slides add a unique sound to your musical toolkit, opening up new genres and playing styles that the guitarist on your list might not have explored. While slides made of glass or metal are common, Taylor produces slides made of genuine West African ebony, which yield a much warmer, mellower tone than other materials. Our ebony slides are made of the same wood used in our fretboards, bridges and other guitar parts, processed at our Crelicam ebony mill in Cameroon. Purchases of ebony slides support our ebony replanting and reforestation efforts.

Digital Clip-on Guitar Tuners

Clip-on guitar tuners, also known as headstock tuners, have become standard for casual players and pros alike—you’ll see them in basements, garages, recording studios, even attached to guitars played by your favorite musicians on stage. Because they determine pitch by detecting the vibration of the string through the instrument itself instead of through a microphone, clip-on guitar tuners make it easy to tune up without cables or pedals, even in a noisy environment.

You’ll find an array of headstock guitar tuners on the market, but we recommend the Taylor Beacon Guitar Multi-tool. In addition to a highly accurate tuner with five tuning modes (chromatic, guitar, bass, ukulele, violin), the Beacon also features a metronome with 12 time signature presets, a timer and countdown clock, and a flashlight. It’s USB-chargeable and sports a bright LCD display so that you can tune up in any space.

Guitar Polish & Microfiber Cloth

Most guitarists are nothing if not precious about how their guitars look. If you’re looking for a good gift for a guitar player that will help them keep their instrument looking beautiful, try a good guitar polish or guitar cleaner with a microfiber polish cloth. We recommend using a guitar polish for guitars with glossy finishes and a guitar cleaner for guitars with satin or matte finishes. Likewise, a quality fretboard conditioning oil will keep your fretboard moisturized and shiny, helping to prevent drying and cracking over time.

Home Gifts for Guitar Players

If the guitarist on your list is a Taylor fan or player, why not help them show off their pride at home or in their favorite music space? In the TaylorWare shop, you’ll find pint glasses, leather wallets, coffee mugs and luggage tags, as well as useful gifts like leather keychain guitar pick holders and stools that provide a comfortable place to sit while practicing.

Taylor Apparel

The TaylorWare shop is always stocked up with stylish apparel to help the guitar player in your life show off their Taylor fandom. You’ll find t-shirts, hoodies, beanies, baseball caps, thermals and more, all quality-made for every season and available in both men’s and women’s cuts and sizes.

Guitar Stands and Wall Mounts

Every guitar player needs somewhere to safely store and display their guitars, whether at home or on stage. A good, sturdy guitar stand can prevent a tragedy like a broken headstock or a cracked body, and our floor stands are crafted with quality woods like mahogany or beechwood so that they look great in your home alongside your furniture and decor.

Alternatively, a wall hanger can be a great gift for a guitar player, helping them show off their acoustic guitars like the works of art and craftsmanship they are. The TaylorWare shop offers guitar wall hangers made from ebony and Hawaiian koa, the same woods featured in many Taylor guitars. You’ll even find guitar wall hangers with inlays similar to those used in the fretboards and pegheads of some of our acoustic guitars.

Circa 74 Acoustic Guitar & Vocal Amp

Taylor recently introduced the world to Circa 74, an acoustic guitar and vocal amplifier housed in an attractive mahogany cabinet that won’t need to be put away when company comes over. Featuring dual ¼-inch and XLR input channels, intuitive 3-band EQ and volume controls, room reverb, and a 10-inch full-range speaker, the Circa 74 amp produces a warm, clear sound with 150 watts of power—plenty for filling virtually any space with beautiful acoustic tone. It’s an ideal gift for any guitar player who wants to have their vocals amplified along with their instrument in one convenient package, and it’s versatile enough to function as a performance amp in live settings like open mic nights and other small venues as well as home practice and recording applications. The Circa 74 amp also comes with a mahogany stand, elevating the speaker for better sonic projection.

Stella Falone Ebony Cutting Board

Okay, so it’s not exactly guitar-related. As part of the Ebony Project and our sustainability initiatives focused on ebony replanting and cultivation, we’ve designed a set of kitchen products that use ebony from the very same trees that supply fretboards and bridges in acoustic guitars, harvested at our ebony mill in Cameroon, Africa. These cutting boards, produced and sold by our sister company, Stella Falone, feature a cross-grain structure for incredible durability and strength, and their rich, striking grain pattern makes for a truly eye-catching kitchen centerpiece. The best part? No additional trees are cut to produce these boards, and your purchase supports replanting and living wages for local communities around the mill.

Guitar Recording Interfaces

This one might seem challenging, but usually, you can get everything a guitarist needs to record their music in one stop at the music store. There are many methods of recording, but if the musician on your list has an electric guitar or an acoustic guitar equipped with electronics, it’s as easy as finding a recording interface. These devices connect the guitar to a computer and usually start in the $100 range. Just pick up the appropriate cable when you buy it, and they’ll be immersed in studio magic before you know it. Brands like Focusrite and PreSonus are popular choices.

Guitar Loop Pedals

If the guitar player in your life is looking for interesting ways to liven up their practice sessions and experiment with new sounds, a loop pedal can be a great gift idea. Loop pedals, or loop stations, are devices that record and replay short passages of music so the player can layer the sound of the guitar. Companies like BOSS and TC Electronic make loop pedals that are easy to use, with enough recording time and memory slots to please even advanced players. Many musicians use these onstage or as practice tools, but either way, they’re great fun for the guitar geek in your life.

If All Else Fails…a Gift Card

So you know they want a new guitar, but you don’t know which one to buy. If they’ve been playing for a while, chances are they have something specific in mind. A gift card is one of the easiest guitar gift ideas, and your lucky recipient will be able to get whatever they want so you don’t have to worry about buying the wrong thing.
