Stunning in its milky transparent white edgeburst finish, the 50th Anniversary 614ce LTD boasts a visual character unlike anything else in the Taylor lineup. This Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric is crafted with back and sides of solid, beautifully figured Big Leaf maple paired with a Sitka spruce top. In line with our standard 600 Series models, this limited-edition guitar has been voiced with unique design touches that dial up the lower portions of the frequency range, yielding a warmer, more rounded character than players might expect compared with maple’s traditionally vibrant response. Known for its player-reflective qualities, Big Leaf maple amplifies the nuances specific to the individual holding the guitar, meaning this model channels a unique sound through each pair of hands. With the solid Sitka spruce top and our tone-enhancing V-Class bracing inside, players will notice clear projection with remarkable volume, sustain and tunefulness all the way up the neck.
Aesthetically, the 50th Anniversary 614ce LTD celebrates our 50-year heritage with gleaming details such as gold hardware and ebony bridge pins, with gold acrylic dots to complement the blonde complexion of the gloss-finished maple and spruce, a single-ring rosette and Wings fretboard inlays in green abalone, faux-tortoiseshell body binding, and a commemorative 50th Anniversary label. This month’s other limited-edition release offers a treat for fans of the shimmering 12-string sound: the 50th Anniversary 858e LTD, a jumbo-style Grand Orchestra crafted with the beloved tonewood pairing of Indian rosewood and Sitka spruce that comes standard in our 800 Series. The first 12-string guitar to join our 50th Anniversary collection, the big-bodied 858e LTD boasts a powerful voice boosted by the V-Class bracing inside, yielding rich lows, pristine trebles and a lush overtone profile that blooms as notes sustain out. Along with its exceptional volume and projection, players will notice remarkable soft-touch sensitivity, adding up to a broad dynamic range that remains clear and balanced whether you play fingerstyle with a light touch or like to dig in with a pick. Our V-Class architecture is also a boon for the 12-string configuration, helping maintain clarity and harmony between the octave-paired notes regardless of your playing style. Meanwhile, the ES2 pickup and preamp provides organic tone for players who need to plug in for live performance or recording applications.
