Taylor Guitars Sweeps Awards at the Winter NAMM Show

EL CAJON, Calif. – February 3, 2015 – At the Winter NAMM Show, five of the top musical instrument industry magazines presented Taylor Guitars with several prestigious honors for the company’s line of guitars, including Taylor’s new maple/spruce 600 Series, which was recognized as the Best of Show.

The awards are as follows:

·        Best of Show, Taylor’s New 600 Series, Guitar Player magazine

·        Best of Show, Taylor’s New 600 Series, Guitar World magazine

·        Best Acoustic Guitar of 2014, Taylor’s 814ce, Music & Sound Retailer magazine

·        Product Excellence Award, Taylor’s 814ce, Music Inc. magazine

·        Acoustic Guitar Line of the Year, Music Merchandise Review magazine

The awards, which primarily were voted on by musical instrument dealers and guitar players, acknowledged Taylor’s commitment to advancing the design of the acoustic guitar and its high quality standards. The Acoustic Guitar Line of the Year award is considered one of the most coveted awards as it recognizes a guitar company considered the best in the industry.

Christian Wissmuller, Editor-in-Chief of MMR shares, “The ‘Acoustic Guitar Line of the Year’ is traditionally one of the most hotly contested categories in the annual Dealers’ Choice Awards balloting. This year, however, Taylor — the entire line, rather than one specific model — quickly stood out from the competition, with dealers pointing to the wide range of instruments available, as well as the attention to detail and craftsmanship as being key selling points.”

The award for Acoustic Guitar Line of the Year was presented at the annual NAMM Show in Anaheim, California, in late January to Taylor co-founder and CEO Kurt Listug, Master Guitar Designer Andy Powers, and Vice President of Sales Keith Brawley.

The presentation came as Taylor celebrated the release of its redesigned maple/spruce 600 Series guitars. The new guitars were designed by Andy Powers and feature customized wood thicknesses and bracing for each body style, torrefied Sitka spruce tops, hand-rubbed color and finish, and the company’s award-winning acoustic pickup and preamp, the Expression System® 2. The new guitars also embody the company’s commitment to use First World, conflict-free tonewoods.
