This past weekend, Taylor Guitars was in New York City to help the VH1 Save The Music Foundation further its mission to keep music education in schools across the nation. As part of the organization’s “Family Day,” a free, interactive music expo, Taylor joined other companies, musicians, and nearly 1,000 attendees at The Anderson School to highlight the importance of music education. First order of business for Team Taylor? Get to painting!

The dynamic duo of Taylor’s Andy Lund and Monte Montefusco  let children and parents design their own SolidBody electric for a nominal donation to the organization. Performing act and Taylor players Hanson (710ce, 810, NS74ce, T3, SolidBody) left their “MMMBop” behind and set to painting a very patriotic Stars ‘n’ Stripes themed axe, which VH1 will be auctioning off to raise additional funds.

Team Taylor also encouraged the hands-on experience by bringing 14 Baby, Big Baby and GS Mini guitars for attendees to pick up and play in the Instrument Discovery room. The Babys’ and GS Minis’ diminutive size and big voice make them comfortable and less intimidating for little hands to explore guitar playing.
