Taylor Salutes Grammy Winners and Nominees

The 51st Annual Grammy ceremony proved to be a memorable night for many Taylor Guitars artists as performers, nominees and winners.

Kicking off the night, Taylor 910 player George Strait won Best Country Album for his 2008 release, Troubadour. Heading into the Grammys, Strait held four nominations in the categories of Best Male Country Vocal Performance, Best Country Album and nods for his collaboration on vocals for “Shiftwork” with Kenny Chesney and “House of Cash” with Patty Loveless. The Grammy win marked a first for Strait, whose career spans 30 albums and over two decades of recording.

The Grammys also witnessed performances from two Taylor artists. Reigning county music queen Taylor Swift took the stage to perform an acoustic version of her song “Fifteen,” a new single off the double platinum album Fearless, accompanied by TV and pop star Miley Cyrus. Swift and her band performed with Taylor guitars, with Swift strumming her PSGA 12-string guitar that features AA-grade koa, a Florentine cutaway and a “Taylor” fretboard inlay. The duo dazzled the crowd with their warm, emotional vocals.

Also on stage Katy Perry, a nominee for Best Female Pop Vocal, performed her hit single, “I Kissed a Girl”. Perry, an 814ce and 514ce player, is currently headlining her first worldwide tour to promote her breakout album, One of the Boys.
